Under the direct supervision of the Eligibility Enrollment Program Manager, incumbent is responsible for providing eligibility and enrollment assistance to uninsured patients of health centers and residents in their approved service areas.

You Will Need:

  1. High School diploma/GED required.
  2. Two years' experience in customer service
  3. Knowledge or experience with health insurance eligibility and enrollment
  4. Ability to work with diverse populations
  5. Maintain privacy and security standards
  6. Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
  7. Computer literacy with Microsoft Office
  8. Must use personal vehicle for offsite events
  9. Evening or weekend hours may be required
  10. CPR (provided by SCHC within 6 months of hire)
  11. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Job Duties:

  1. Successfully complete and pass all required and applicable training/testing to include federal and/or state consumer assistance training
  2. Conduct public education activities to raise awareness about coverage options available under Medicaid, CHIP and the Marketplace.
  3. Help individuals understand and access affordability options.
  4. Provide information and assistance in a fair, accurate and impartial manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate to diverse communities and accessible to individuals with disabilities.
  5. Provide referrals to any applicable office of health insurance consumer assistance or ombudsman established under Section 2793 of the PHS Act to address consumer grievances, complaints, or questions about their health plan, coverage, or a determination.
  6. Conduct "in reach" with currently uninsured health center patients and "outreach" to non-health center patients in the approved service area.
  7. Help any patient or resident seeking outreach and enrollment assistance or provide timely referrals to other resources, such as the toll-free Marketplace Call Center, or to other state or local entities that can more effectively serve that individual.
  8. Meet the outreach and enrollment assistance-specific goals
  9. Collect encounter data for quarterly reports
  10. Any other duties as assigned.
