Under the direct supervision of the Pediatric Dental Clinic Coordinator and the indirect supervision of the Pediatric Dental Practice Manager, incumbent is responsible for assisting all pediatric dental providers in the delivery of dental care to patients at the hospital operating room and clinic, and performing those procedures allowable according to Florida State Dental Laws and other duties authorized by providers and supervisors.

You Will Need:

  1. Certificate of completion from Dental Assistant program with Expanded Duties.
  2. Certification and Radiology and CPR Certification is required.
  3. Minimum three (3) years' experience in a dental office and hospital setting, including ordering and maintaining supplies.
  4. Familiarity with CDT codes and common dental terminology.
  5. CPR required.

Job Duties:

  1. Assist in ordering supplies on a regular basis to maintain adequate levels in the operating room(s).
  2. Ensure the work area remains clean, stocked, professional, and free from hazards.
  3. Assist Clinic Coordinator with upkeep and maintenance of all dental equipment.
  4. Ensure all safety rules are adhered to by employees, including proper use of PPE.
  5. Assist Clinic Coordinator with all inventory and ordering of supplies for clinic and hospital maintaining proper rotation, sterilization and storage.
  6. Assist in training of all new employees to ensure efficiency in all processes.
  7. Assist Clinic Coordinator with efficient turnover of all cases and documentation of workflow procedures including completion of department logs.
  8. Assist Clinic Coordinator with scheduling of staff at the OR to maintain adequate coverage to include weekend coverage if necessary.
  9. Continual assistance to providers and hygienists for all patient care.
  10. Comply with all facility policies and procedures including but not limited to those addressing OSHA standards, HIPAA and Compliance.
  11. Communicate effectively with hospital staff (charge nurse, equipment personnel, etc.), and SCHC team regarding pending equipment repairs, orders, scheduling, etc.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
