Under the direct supervision of the Training and Development Supervisor and general direction of the Dental Practice Manager, incumbent is responsible for training.

You Will Need:

  1. High School Diploma / GED.
  2. Certified in Dental Radiology and Assisting as required by the Florida Department of Professional Regulations.
  3. Certified in expanded duties.
  4. Experience in four-handed/chair side dentistry.
  5. Computer literate.
  6. Ability to communicate verbally, written and with visual media.
  7. Ability to type 30 wpm.
  8. Able to work in harmony with other dental staff.
  9. CPR (provided by SCHC within 6 months of hire.
  10. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Job Duties:

  1. Determine training needs of new and existing Dental Assistants and Dental Front Office Coordinators.
  2. Training room and on-site instruction in practice management system (eCW) and electronic dental record (Open Dental) as it pertains to the dental workflow.
  3. On-site instruction and guidance in all aspects of Dental Assisting and Dental Front Office.
  4. Staff Development, troubleshooting and updates for new and existing employees.
  5. Coverage for Dental Assistant and Dental Front Office Coordinators when directed by Training and Development Supervisor, in coordination with Dental Practice Manager.
  6. Assist Dental Practice Manager in maintaining Hazard Communication Program, Infection Control and monitoring adherence to OSHA guidelines.
  7. Assist in developing and updating training manuals that pertain to dental department, including Dental Assistants, Dental Front Office Coordinators and Infection Control.
  8. Assist in continually updating insurance manual and communicating updates to staff.
  9. Monitor and document training, to include CPR for all Suncoast employees.
  10. Developing and administering oral, written and performance tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
  11. Participate in seminars and training sessions to keep informed of developments in the field and integrate relevant information into training programs.
  12. Local travel required.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
