POSITION TITLE: FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR - DENTAL

FSLA: NONEXEMPT

Under the direct supervision of the Dental Practice Manager and indirect supervision of the Staff Dentist, incumbent is responsible for greeting, registering, counseling and collecting all necessary information for new and established patients.

You Will Need:

  1. High School Graduate or GED; AA degree in Business or related field preferred.
  2. Strong customer service experience and qualifications required.
  3. Money and credit card transactions experience required.
  4. Experience in dental front office strongly preferred.
  5. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures, experience in dental insurance billing, computer data entry and retrieval is preferred.
  6.  Computer literate with ability to type 30 to 40 WPM.
  7.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

 Job Duties:

  1. Answer telephone in a courteous and professional manner, record accurate patient messages and/or complaints and direct them appropriately.
  2. Provide follow-up on missed/no-show appointments and accommodate same day appointment requests.
  3. Assist in collection of information for quality improvement surveys.
  4. Keep track of all incoming messages and respond as soon as possible.
  5. Submit claims, referrals and pre-authorizations.
  6. Manage provider schedules, including reviewing schedule for open appointments, scheduling as outlined in schedule guidelines, and processing all missed appointments.
  7. Follow Suncoast infection control policies.
  8. Wear clean and appropriate attire based on the Suncoast dress code at all times.
  9. Manage walk-in schedule and communicate with clinical staff.
  10. Comply with all facility policies and procedures, including but not limited to those addressing OSHA standards, HIPAA, and Compliance.
  11. Comply with Health Plan audits and CODA, AAAHC and facility standards and reviews.
  12.  Participate in all safety programs, which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
  13. Help providers manage dental and medical emergencies using authorized emergency procedures including administering CPR, using Universal Precautions and following OSHA guidelines.
